Sector specialist Chris Jagusz will help steer the Manchester-based network and cloud provider’s ambitious five year plan

Vaioni Wholesale has appointed industry insider Chris Jagusz as chairman of the board to help oversee the firm’s ambitious five-year plan and drive an accelerated period of growth.

Chris has extensive experience of leading high growth companies in the IT and telecoms sector, having played key roles at Azzurri Communications, Redcentric, Daisy and SSE Enterprise Telecoms among others. His arrival at the 12-year-old firm coincides with a significant growth capital investment and a corporate vision to build the most powerful connectivity and cloud ecosystem in the channel.

Vaioni Wholesale founder and managing director Sachin Vaish says the appointment will help the company meet its ambition to become one of the UK’s most technologically advanced connectivity and cloud providers, offering resellers powerful solutions and a frictionless customer experience.

“Chris is a great fit for Vaioni Wholesale at exactly the right time in our development,” Sachin adds. “He brings a huge amount of experience, having run some of the most successful technology businesses in the UK. As a well-respected figure in the industry, Chris brings weight and kudos to our business. He is not only a great sounding board, but we can also lean on his experience in business growth and M&A.”

The appointment comes at an exciting time for the business, which aims to treble in size by the end of 2024. The company will consider mergers and acquisition as part of its long-term growth strategy.

Vaioni Wholesale is developing technology that will allow it to offer a fully automated connectivity and cloud ecosystem to channel partners in the near future. The company currently delivers the full spectrum of connectivity options including V.E.N. – its award-winning National Ethernet network – alongside cloud-based security and unified communications solutions.

Chris’s involvement will be multi-layered. He will help the senior management team identify growth areas for the business, while also testing management thinking and helping set priorities for the company’s pioneering product road map.

Chris says he agreed to become chairman after witnessing the “buzz” around the company first hand. “When I first met Sachin and the team I can honestly say I’d never seen such energy and enthusiasm. The business has a very exciting, well-funded five-year plan and straight away I knew it was something I wanted to be part of.”

“I’ve worked in telecoms but also in other sectors, so I bring a fresh perspective to the firm’s strategic thinking,” he says. “I’m happy to take a step back from the day-to-day minutiae and take a wider view, but I can dive into the detail when Sachin and the team think that will be useful. As a priority I’ll help to make sure we’re not just working on innovative new products and services but that we’re getting them out to the market.”

Sachin adds that channel partners will soon start to see the benefits of the company’s ambitious plans. “Our push towards complete automation will revolutionise the channel. We want to help channel partners be more competitive, win more business through innovation and increase their profitability through automation,” he says. “We’ve got a five-year plan to become the most advanced provider in the market, and partners will start seeing the first fruits of that over the next 12 months.”
